(A.I.S) Active Isolated Stretching

30 minutes- 39.95

AIS movements are precisely targeted to stretch individual muscles and parts of muscles, rather than larger muscle groups. (For instance, in contrast to a simple forward bend that provides a general stretch for all aspects of the hamstring muscles, AIS uses six different stretches to focus on different combinations of the medial, lateral, oblique, proximal, and distal fibers.) This enables the practitioner to independently evaluate — and then work to maximize — the flexibility of each section of the muscle. There are AIS protocols for every primary muscle in the body, amounting to more than 170 separate stretches. Using different combinations of these stretches, we can develop customized regimens tailored to the specific needs of any client.

During our Therapeutic/deep tissue massage session, your therapist will treat chronic tension and injuries from overuse, such as tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome and sciatica. The pace of this modality of massage tends to be much slower applying deeper pressure, concentrating on problem areas. Therapist may use forearms, elbows, fingertips and knuckles as well as their hands in order to break-up adhesions.

Neuromuscular Therapy

60 minutes- $49.95

90 minutes- $85.95

120 minutes- $115.95

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is a specialized form of Bodywork which aims to produce a long-term change over a series of sessions. It works on the basis that much of the pain and tension we hold is, in fact a result of 'holding' in the nervous system, and that by retraining the nervous system we can deactivate painful spots (trigger points) and release long-term tension and restrictions in movement. Often, pain in one area comes from a trigger point somewhere else in the body, and this kind of therapy can be used to discover and deactivate these points, which you probably didn't know existed! Neuromuscular Therapy releases these points and lengthens shortened and tight muscles. These problems can be discovered by touch, and by assessing your posture, walking and standing, and taking into account the balance of various muscles and joints. This enables the therapist to work with the whole body, discovering how dysfunction in one area of the body can cause problems in another.
